NanoMaterials Center Awards New Grants

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Pennsylvania NanoMaterials Commercialization Center announced the award of three grants totaling $551,750. 

The center was formed last year as a public-private partnership to provide assistance and funding to promising nanomaterials research efforts that have a well-defined commercial or defense application.

NanoRDC, LLC received a $51,250 grant to develop improvements in carbon nanotubes in rubber and plastic materials.  Illuminex was awarded $300,000 for next generation heat piping and Plextronics was awarded $200,500 to continue development of its organic solar cell technology.
